Juvenile Mental Health Court works with juveniles (ages 10-18) who have delinquency charges related to identified mental health problems.

 

The MISSION of the 1st Judicial District Juvenile Mental Health Court is twofold:

  1. To improve the lives of juveniles who have been impacted by mental health disorders, and
  2. To increase public safety by reducing the number and frequency of juvenile-relate crimes
This mission will be accomplished by:
  • Assisting participants by connecting them to appropriate mental health treatment and supports
  • Engaging juveniles and their families in treatment
  • Ensuring that the participating juveniles and their families receive high quality, community-based services
  • Holding participants accountable for their actions
